Title: tieCar adapter instead of ICOM
Post by: andrii on May 30, 2024, 07:03:55
Hello, everyone.
I`m sorry for maybe stupid question - is there a way to use tieCar adapter with ISTA instead of OEM ICOM?
If yes - could you, please, advice which settings needed?
As i know, the ICOM uses an IP address.
Thank you.

Hello,

Install BMW Passthru driver. MUST be v 2.1.0.0 - other ones does not work so well (or at all).
There are plenty of guides on the internet on this topic - just search "ISTA passthru driver".
Then, must choose Ediabas option in ISTA connection settings.

ISTA-P (cracked, with a launcher) will not work, only ISTA-D.

Thank you for your answer.
But if it possible to use passthru and emulation kl15 in the same time?
At this moment i use cantie adapter as a source of "ignition" and icom as a diagnostic interface for working with bmw ecu ( headlights modules) on the table.
I suppose that it is possible to perform both the tasks using only cartie adapter.
What do you think about it?
Thank you
